What’s Next for Jonathon Marcel’s Glorious PI, Kelly Reed

After finishing Whispers That Kill with a cliff-hanging last line, early readers were left wondering what is Kelly about to do? What has she gotten herself into?

My vulnerable, all-powerful private investigator is stuck having to make good on a promise, or rather her end of a deal—no matter what side of the fence you operate on, you’re only as good as your word.

Even if you haven’t read Whispers That Kill, you can still sample the first couple of chapters here and be able to follow along with this article.

In the first chapter of Whispers That Kill, Kelly captures Colorado fugitive Jerry Reynolds in Quebec and returns him to prison. Later in the story, Jerry requests a visit with Kelly, and offers a quid pro quo. Reluctantly, Kelly agrees. Now it’s time for Kelly to pay up.

Tainted Justice

Tainted Justice is the fourth installment in the series. Up to now, Kelly has been living a rock-star image in the public eye, but her fame and good name are now at risk when the good people of Colorado learn she’s in league with Jerry Reynolds.

If a hostile community wasn’t enough conflict, Jerry’s ex-wife will stop at nothing to thwart Kelly’s efforts. And when the lead detective who arrested Jerry finds out Kelly has teamed up with the convict he put behind bars… Well, he isn’t happy about it.

And let’s not forget FBI Special Agent In Charge Kyle Sommers, who is still after Kelly for destroying his Russian mob case. You’ll have to read The Samogon Affair and Playing For Blood to learn all about Sommers and find out what Kelly did to piss him off, and what he did to perfect her hatred.

For now, read the sneak peek of Tainted Justice here on my website, along with excerpts.
